NEKHC Hosts Tax Tips for Seniors
Northeast Kingdom Homecare, Inc., 100 Second Street, Newport will host a presentation on “2007 Tax Tips for Seniors” and their families January 22, 2008 at 7:00PM.
Donald P. Hunt, EA of Pat Hunt, Inc. will guide us through a discussion of Form 1040 and related issues that may be particular to senior taxpayers. His talk will center on those matters important to retirees, including medical deductions: homecare & assisted living arrangements, long term care insurance, sale of residence or other assets, taxation of Social Security benefits, tax effect of turning assets into an income stream: pensions, investment accounts life insurance & reverse mortgage, options for passing assets to heirs and estate & trust taxes. The program will allow time for questions during and after the presentation.
Don has twenty-seven years of tax preparation and planning experience, assisting clients of all ages and income levels. He has taught seminars throughout Vermont, often through the UVM Extension System for nearly twenty years.
In addition to gathering great information for your taxes, you will be served some delicious desserts and will have an opportunity to socialize with old and new friends. Don and the staff of NEKHC & The Meeting Place will be mingling with the attendees. We encourage you to bring your spouse and/or responsible family members.
