Inhome Care
All our lives are spent helping our families and friends. Eventually it might become necessary that we need help ourselves. Most of us really want to remain in our own homes with caregivers rather than being moved to a nursing home or assisted living facility. Northeast Kingdom Home-care empowers you to live at home, stay near your family, friends, pets, and belongings, with a program of home-care to fit your needs.
You and Your Caregiver
A Northeast Kingdom Caregiver will become your friend, companion, and a part of your family. Your caregiver will spend whatever hours are necessary with you, perhaps helping you dress, bathe, eat, shop, and travel to appointments. You might spend your time together visiting, watching TV, and socializing with other friends. Your caregiver is there to help you carry on with those things you’ve always enjoyed doing. As part of your caring community, the caregiver will also help coordinate visits with your doctor or visiting nurses while communicating regularly with your family.
The Caregiving Plan
When you first meet with us our Director of Homecare works with you to develop a specific plan to meet your personal, physical and medical needs. Information about meals, your day-to-day routine, friends and social activities, medical needs and appointments, will all be recorded into your plan. We will make a record of emergency phone numbers: doctors, pharmacists, and family members. Your daily journal will include notes by your caregiver to help you, other caregivers, visiting nurses, and family to communicate with each other. Periodically there will be follow-up meetings with the Director of Homecare to ensure you that Northeast Kingdom Homecare continues to meet your needs.
