About Northeast Kingdom Homecare, Inc.

Northeast Kingdom Homecare, Inc., began providing service to Orleans and Essex County residents in January 2004.

The founders were Debra Hunt, Andrea Hunt, and Pam Newell. NEKHC began as an agency recruiting, training, and employing caregivers who are placed in assignments with clients.

In summer, 2005, the company began an expansion to provide adult day services in a group setting. In September, the company purchased the building at 100 2nd Street in Newport, a 160-year-old church that opened for day services in late November.

In 2007, the company began offering services through partnerships with Professional Nurses Service, Inc. and through Orleans-Essex VNA and Hospice.

Continued growth in 2008 has led to the opening of The Meeting Place on Saturdays. Also, the company is beginning an expansion of its homecare services into Caledonia County, serving people in the Lyndonville and St. Johnsbury areas.
